Each year our branch celebrates the accomplishments of fifteen young women in their junior year of high school — one from each of the 15 public high schools in Delaware County.
We believe that there are many worthy young women who have excellent grades and achievements who are not recognized because they are not in the top 5% of the class.
Our Branch first distributed these awards in 2002 and each year have been impressed by the high quality of the students and their dedication to community service. Reaction to this recognition from the high schools, the awardees, their families and friends has been very positive.
SPECIAL NOTICE: In accordance with the guidelines issued by the PA Department of Health regarding social distancing because of the COVID-19 threat our Branch is postponed the awards recognition program.
We hope to offer this program in the future.
The Junior Girls Recognition Award criteria is:
- Primarily, she should be involved in community service or involved in a
community group whose mission is positive societal change.
- She should be in the top 25% of her class academically.
- She should be college bound.
